PROJECT OVERVIEW
Leigh Regatta is one of the biggest events in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Every year it brings big crowds down to the seafront. With so many people coming and going over the weekend, the organisers needed a good way to keep the site clean and tidy from start to finish. Clearaway was asked to supply wheelie bins for the event and to keep emptying them all weekend, even while the regatta was still going on.
THE CHALLENGE
A busy weekend event like Leigh Regatta makes a lot of rubbish in a short space of time. Bins that are left to overflow soon become a problem for organisers and visitors. The bins needed emptying while the event was still running, not just once it had finished. That meant working around a live event on the seafront, not an empty site.
OUR APPROACH
Clearaway delivered wheelie bins to the regatta site before the event started, ready for the crowds. Rather than wait until everything had wrapped up, our dustcart driver went back out at 10 pm on Saturday night, while the regatta was still in full swing, to empty the bins and keep the site clean for the rest of the weekend. On the Monday after the event, the job was finished properly. The dustcart went back for one last empty, and our van driver collected all the wheelie bins from the site.
THE RESULTS
Leigh Regatta stayed clean and tidy for the whole weekend, even during the busiest hours of the event. The organisers could focus on running the regatta, knowing the bins were being looked after. Late finishes like this are exactly the kind of dedication our team brings to every job, and we were proud to play our part in such a well-loved local event.
