Waste produced by a business is classed as trade waste, sometimes called commercial waste, and it comes with its own set of rules under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. You cannot simply put trade waste out with domestic bins for the council to collect. If you use a contractor to remove it, that contractor has to be a registered and licensed waste carrier. You also need evidence of where the waste went, in the form of a waste transfer note, and this record has to be kept on file.
